Vertikal CertFocus fact sheet
A dated fact sheet, not a ranking and not a hands-on test. Claims below are the vendor’s public words unless a sentence says otherwise.
Public page read November 6, 2026 · Published by COI Tracker, an editorial resource
What we read
On November 6, 2026 we read the CertFocus page on Vertikal’s site. Sentences about the product are limited to that page unless noted. Advertising observed earlier is labeled as advertising. Packaging can change after this date.
What the public page claims
The page presents CertFocus as Vertikal’s certificate-of-insurance tracking product. It says the offer includes software and tracking services, and that clients can choose full service (software and a service) or self service (software only). It says the work is to see that suppliers, subcontractors, tenants, and others provide required evidence of insurance. It says the product gathers and reviews certificates and endorsements, extracts coverage data, and compares that data with contractual requirements. It says monitoring can be automated.
The same page announces Hawk-I, which Vertikal describes as artificial intelligence for certificate review and compliance assessment. That is a company announcement on the page. We did not see it review a document.
The page says the product is affordable and contrasts itself with high costs elsewhere. It does not publish a number. That contrast is not a finding that CertFocus costs less than any other name in this set. Ads in September and October 2026 described verification, alerts, and workflows, and an earlier ad used a lower-cost message. The November 6 product page is the source for the service-model wording above.
Typical buyer fit
The page names suppliers, subcontractors, and tenants, and it says the customers include public and private organizations. Construction subcontractors and tenant or property relationships are both publicly in the description. A single-industry limit is not stated.
Evaluation criteria
These are the criteria on the shortlist guide. A row is filled only when the page we read speaks to it. Everything else stays unknown.
| Criterion | What this fact sheet can say |
|---|---|
| Requirement model | The page claims a comparison of extracted coverage data with contractual insurance requirements. How those requirements are stored per project or per property is unknown. |
| Intake | Gathering certificates and endorsements is claimed. Whether vendors use a portal, email, or a service team is unknown beyond the full-service versus self-service choice. |
| Verification | The page claims automated review, extraction, and comparison with requirements, plus an announced AI review tool. Depth and accuracy are unknown. We did not test a file. |
| Exceptions | Unknown from the page we read. |
| Renewals | Automated monitoring is claimed. Lead time and who gets the alert are unknown. |
| Parties and scale | Suppliers, subcontractors, tenants, and other partners are named. A customer count is not used here. |
| Evidence retention | Unknown. The page does not say whether the certificate you relied on is kept after a newer one arrives. |
| Reporting | Enterprise-wide visibility into compliance status is claimed. Export format is unknown. |
| Neighboring systems | The page says the tracking can sit inside existing onboarding and maintenance workflows. Named systems are unknown. |
| Service model | The page explicitly offers full service (software and service) or self service (software only), and it mentions credentialed insurance staff for advice. What the service team does on a given day is still something to ask. |
| Security and access | Unknown from the page we read. |
| Price transparency | No dollar price is published on the page. “Affordable” and “without the high costs” are slogans, not a rate card. Unknown. |
Pricing transparency
Unknown. The page argues that the product costs less than unnamed alternatives and does not show a price. This fact sheet does not treat that argument as a price comparison. If you get a quote, use the pricing questions and ask what full service includes that self service does not.
